Obedience training
Obedience training may just be the best gift you can give yourself, your family, and your pet. It teaches your dog appropriate social behavior with both people and animals; helps correct annoying behaviors like jumping, digging, barking, and chewing; and keeps your dog entertained and happy. A win-win all around!
When to Start Training
The sooner, the better! It’s easier to train a puppy how to act properly than it is to retrain an adult dog who may have already established less-than-ideal behaviors. Still, it’s never too late to train your dog—it just may take a little longer before he adopts new behaviors. Much like people, every dog is different. Some are hyperactive. Some are laid-back. Some are serious. Others are silly. Some are shy, and yet others have too much confidence. Regardless of these differences, training is necessary for all dogs and beneficial to your entire family.
Take a Class and Practice at Home
Taking a class at Happy Dog School is the best way to train your dog in obedience. But that’s really just a stepping stone because you can’t rely on classes alone: you have to practice at home as well, and your instructor will tell you how often and how long practices should be. While it’s important to practice regularly and frequently, sessions should be short and interspersed with playtime and rewards.
Our school offer three types of training:
Puppy class
Designed for dogs 3-5 months old. Young pups will learn basic household commands and how to socialize with people and other puppies. You’ll learn about nutrition, grooming, housebreaking, and troubleshooting common problems.
Basic class
For dogs 5 months and older. You’ll learn essential training commands to keep your dog safe, such as heel, sit, stand, down, stay, and come. Instructors will also teach you about proper nutrition, grooming, and solutions to common problems.

Companion events classes
Which prepares you and your dog for competition in obedience and other events like rally, agility and tracking. You’ll learn about the various levels of competition and titles available, how to teach your dog the required exercises, and will help you to learn the regulations for competing.

Service dog
Service Dogs provide valuable physical assistance to a person with a physical disability. They allow that person to take part in activities that they otherwise might not be able to do and help them with activities of daily living so that they may be able to live more independently.

Our program includes:
  • a minimum of 120 hours of training
  • a minimum of 6 months in training with a Happy Dog School trainer.
  • 24 hours training in high distraction public places.
Service Dogs can perform tasks such as opening doors,
By assisting their owner with certain tasks such as pulling the wheelchair, Service Dogs can help their owner to save their strength for other activities. Because of this, and their increased independence, some Service Dog users have found employment or moved out of care facilities with the help of their dog. Service Dogs can also save the owner money by reducing their need for paid care.
Service Dogs are very highly trained animals that take a long time, and a lot of money to train. The amount of time required to train a Service Dog is the same as that of a Guide Dog. If you encounter a Service Dog (or any type of Assistance Dog) when wearing its identification coat, please remember that it deserves the same respect that you would afford a Guide Dog. Please do not try to touch or talk to the Service Dog without first asking its handler.
Service Dogs Can:
  • Lift and carry items
  • Retrieve dropped or lost items
  • Be used as a brace for people with walking difficulty
  • Open and close doors
  • Activate light switches
  • Pull a manual wheelchair
  • Accompany their owner in public
  • Bark an alert for help
  • Assist with daily tasks such as making the bed, doing the laundry etc
  • Move limbs for people with paralysis
  • And many more.......
Service dogs are also a wonderful companion and friend to their owner. Often people comment that the emotional and social benefits of having a service dog are of equal importance to the physical benefits. Service dogs help people to make friends, encourage an initial talking point for first time meetings and also give people the opportunity to gain self-esteem by doing things for themselves.
Private certification
For owners who have trained their own dog to assist them, our trainers can evaluate and certify privately trained assistance dogs through our Private Certification Program.
In addition to fulfilling all of the standards that each our trainers dog is required to fulfill, Service Dogs also meet the following criteria:
  • All Dogs must have completed a minimum of 120 hours of training.
  • Dogs have spent at least 30 hours training in high distraction public places.
  • Dog handlers complete a 6 months training course.(Meeting Monthly)
